The landowner will contact the County NRCS office in which the proposed structure lies and meet with an NRD representative and NRCS to discuss if the project meets all requirements or if there are other alternatives.
The NRCS and NRD staff along with an NRD Board Member that represents that area will conduct a site inspection.
NRCS will do preliminary size/design and cost estimates for the purpose of an application.
The application is then presented to LBNRD Projects and Planning Committee for review and recommendation. Committee recommendations are forwarded to the NRD Board of Directors for final approval.
All Site Surveying, soil investigations, easements, permits, final design and staking are necessary to authorize construction by NRD staff.
The landowner/contractor has six (6) months to complete the project.
Any construction that will require more than 60 working days from the NRCS will be privately contracted to Engineering firms.
