Outstanding Tree Planter Award
This program recognizes individuals, organizations or agencies for their outstanding tree planting and management efforts.
The tree plantings must be for conservation purposes, such as windbreaks, shelterbelts, wildlife habitat, woodlots or erosion control. Ornamental and horticultural plantings do not qualify.
Minimum size of planting is 300 species, trees must also be at least three years old and exhibit proper care and management. The Education Committee will make the selection and the winners will receive 50 free seedings for the next spring and a palque.
Urban Conservation Award
The Little Blue NRD will award Conservation Urban Awards to communities, businesses or civic groups in the District who have displayed an active interest in the conservation of our natural resources
They must establish new or have rebuilt soil and water conservation measures on their property within the last five years. Examples are: tree plantings, landscaping, recreational needs and other similar practices. Winners will receive a $75.00 award and a plaque.
Conservation Farm Photo Award
The Conservation Farm Award is given to producers in the District who have displayed an active interest in the conservation of our natural resources.
The famer must have established new or rebuilt soil and water conservation measures on his/her farm within the last five years.
All aspects of the farming operation will be taken into account for each particular farm, such as proper management of cropland, pastures, forest and wasteland, including noxious weeds. The winners will receive a 16x20 aerial photo of their operation.
