Well Permits
Anyyone wishing to construct a new or replacement well pumping over 50 gallons per minute must obtain a permit from the NRD before construction can begin. Permits are not required for test holes or temporary dewatering wells. All wells are required to be registered with the State Department of Natural Resources within 30 days after the well is completed.
On March 17, 2006 the Little Blue NRD issued a stay on drilling wells, or a series of wells, that are designed to pump 50 gallons per minute or more and a stay on expansion of irrigated acres in an area titled Quantity Sub-Area 8.
