Each year 4th thru 6th graders are given an opportunity to compete in a poster contest. The theme, which is related to natural resources, was "Nebraska's Prairie" for 2007. The winning poster is made into a book-cover for all students in the LBNRD for the following year. The second place winner will have their poster made into a placemat to be distributed to restaurants in the district
The 2007 Poster Contest winner was Seth Kathman of Sacred Heart School in Lawrence. His entry was chosen from 250 contestants from 9 different schools within the Little Blue NRD. He received $75, a medal and certificate. This year's theme was “Nebraska's Prairie.”	Second place went to Matt Beck of Sandy Creek. Matt will receive $50, a medal and certificate.	Third place winner is 6^th grader Lindsey Hinrichs from Sandy Creek School. Lindsey will receive $25, certificate and a medal.
The remaining top ten winners who received a medal and certificate were: 4^th place: Kyle Ridge a 6^th grader at Sandy Creek School 5^th place: Kellie Bohlen a 6th grader at Sandy Creek School 6^th place: Justin Wolfe a 6th grader at Sandy Creek School 7^th place: Sara Haack of Sandy Creek School 8^th place: Jared Smith a 5th grader at Blue Hill School 9^th place: Andi Meyer a 6th grader at Blue Hill School 10^th place: Jessica Benton a 6th grader at Sandy Creek School Congratulations to all of the winners and a special thanks to all the schools who participated.
